Pet Loss Support

When our pet dies, there is an empty space in our lives and hearts. Whether your animal companion lived an active life for many years, was only with you for a short time, or was taken in the prime of life by a sudden accident or illness, the sorrow we feel when a pet passes is real and often substantial. At that time, we may find ourselves struggling to cope.

Pet Loss Support Group

Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals offers support for our mourning pet owners. We host a pet loss support group comprised of other pet owners who understand. This support service is available to you at no charge.

At RBVH our goal is to continue keeping our clients and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be sure to bring a mask to our group meetings and maintain a safe social distance.

Your Pet’s Final Days

When a pet is showing signs of aging, has been hospitalized for a serious illness, or is receiving hospice care, you may be anticipating the end of life for your companion. Preparing for the end can be difficult and lonely. During this time, you may wish to speak with others who are going through a similar experience.

In addition to offering pet loss support, our group provides assistance to pet owners experiencing anticipatory grief. This is a feeling of grief that occurs prior to the actual death of a pet. It is frequently experienced by those caring for a chronically ill, terminally ill, or senior pet.

Learning how to cope with any pet loss is challenging and may occasionally require emotional assistance and support. Contact these Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals locations for more information about this helpful and comforting service.
