Having a pet in the hospital, away from home, may leave you feeling worried and uncomfortable. To ease your concern, your pet is under the care of our qualified team of veterinarians and technicians 24 hours a day. Your pet’s condition is monitored regularly: vital signs, food and fluid intake, and changes in medical status.

Prescription Refills

The Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays and weekends. Prescription food, treats, and approved medication refills may be picked up at your convenience. To request a prescription refill, please contact your Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals veterinarian directly.

When requesting refills, it is best to contact us when you still have at least a one week’s supply left of your pet’s medication. This helps ensure that you don’t run out during the refill process. Refills of medications requiring doctor approval can only be processed on the days that your pet’s veterinarian is in the office and can take up to 48 hours for approval. For your convenience, medications can be shipped from the hospital direct to your home for a small fee.

Some medications are filled and shipped from local compounding pharmacies. To avoid running out of medication at home, please allow one week for these prescriptions to be refilled and mailed.

To further assist you, we offer an online pharmacy exclusively for Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals clients, including patients seen through our specialty and general medicine practices. Now many of your pet’s medications may be ordered and delivered right to your door!

Fear free Certified

In order to attain the most caring and compassionate environment possible, all of our locations are proud to be moving towards Fear Free Practice Certification.

Many of our staff members are already Certified Fear Free Professionals, including doctors, receptionists, technicians, assistants, and managers. This certification has trained us to provide a low stress visit for your pet by practicing Fear Free techniques and protocols throughout your pet’s entire hospital visit experience. We even include owner education so transporting your pet to and from the hospital can be as low stress as possible, and even enjoyable!

If Fear Free means not having to leave the house, we offer a general practice House Calls service that can come to you. Our House Calls department provides wellness and preventive care, including cold-laser therapy, sick exams, hospice care, and end-of-life services. Ask our team how we can help you make your pet’s visit as comfortable and Fear Free as possible, whether in the hospital or at home.
